ST. VINCENT DEPAUL SOCIETY – TO THE RESCUE! With everyone spending a lot more time at home these last six months, a lot of closets, basements, attics and garages have been cleaned out. The problem now is what to do with all the stuff you no longer need. Well, despite the pandemic, the St. Vincent de Paul Society is still going strong, and can use your “donateable” items. To help you out, their truck will be at our Parish the weekend of September 19 and 20. They can take any clothing, most non-consumable household items (no mattresses or non-flat screen TV’s), small appliances, etc. that you are willing to part with. All donated items should be clean, undamaged, and in working condition (the Society does not have the resources to make repairs). To help enable physical distancing, the truck will be available for donations from 1:00-6:30 p.m. on Saturday, and from 8:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Sunday. As much as possible, we ask for you to have the items you are donating in your trunk or the back of your vehicle. When you arrive, volunteers will remove the items from your vehicle and put them in the St. Vincent de Paul truck. That way you won’t even have to get out of your vehicle. If you have any questions, please contact Steve Lukezich at 614-920-0332. We thank you in advance for what we are sure will be a typical outpouring of Saint John XXIII Parish generosity!
