CHRISTMAS CHOIRS

It’s time to think about singing for the Christmas Eve Liturgies. The Christmas Choir for the 5:00 p.m. liturgy is open to any child 3rd grade and up, as well as youth and adults. Brass players are also needed; the Guitar Ensemble for the 5:15 p.m. liturgy needs singers in the 6th grade and up; Christmas Eve Adult Choir for 10:00 p.m. liturgy is also open to 6th grade and up. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR BRUSH CLEARING

The Administrative Council has chosen the date of November 11, 2012 at 12:10 p.m. to clear the area east of the shelter house of the brush and lower tree branches. We are asking for volunteers to help with this project. Please call Andy Appel at 614-834-4206 or sign up on the sheet available on the table in the Gathering Space to volunteer. There is some heavy brush so we will need volunteers to bring heavy duty brush equipment if possible, weed eaters, clippers, chain saws, etc., and anyone who has a dump truck to haul the brush away. The pictorial directory subcommittee is in need of volunteers to assist in making this event a success. We are looking for individuals who can commit to at least a 2-hour window on Portrait Days to assist with the check-in process of the parish members. 8th Graders, this is a great way to earn service hours for Confirmation. The weekend of October 13 and 14 the parish celebrated not only our patron Blessed Pope John XXIII’s feast day but also the 50th Anniversary of the beginning of the Second Vatican Council. Our Masses had special readings and our Worship and Gathering Spaces were decorated with a Papal theme remembering Pope John XXIII. The yellow and white bunting at the church entrance signaled to all this is an important celebration. We furthered our understanding of the impact our patron had on our practice of the Faith with a participatory panel discussion focusing on the Second Vatican Council which began October 11, 1962....

FEAST DAY CELEBRATION

  FEAST DAY CELEBRATION - Each year we celebrate the Feast Day of Blessed Pope John XXIII. This year we not only celebrate his feast day but the 50th Anniversary of the Second Vatican Council. On Sunday, October 14, 2012, we will have just one Mass at 9:00 a.m. We will have a short socialization time following the Mass with finger foods and beverages. Our Faith Formation Commission members have planned a participatory panel discussion about how their faith life has been impacted through the Second Vatican Council and Blessed Pope John XXIII.
