FLU SEASON

In anticipation of flu season, we are taking some precautions during our celebration of the Liturgy. First of all, there will be hand sanitizer available on the table in the Gathering Space, and we encourage all of our parishioners to use it before Mass. Also, hand sanitizer will be on the credence table in the sanctuary, and all Eucharistic Ministers will use it immediately before distribution of communion. We will continue the Sign of Peace, but if you choose not to shake hands, simply fold your hands and say to the person next to you, “Peace be with you.” All should understand the reason for this and not see...

Christmas Novena

Our parish will celebrate the Christmas Novena from December 17 through December 23, 2012. This Novena includes Evening Prayer with the O Antiphons. On Thursday, December 20, Evening Prayer will be incorporated into the Penance service. On Saturday, December 22, Evening Prayer will be coupled with the 5:00 p.m. Mass. The Novena will begin at 7:00 p.m. on the remaining days. Please join us in this time of prayer in preparation for Christmas.

BETHLEHEM ON BROAD STREET

  The Christian Services/ Social Concern Commission along with the churches in the greater Columbus area need help feeding approximately 800 homeless people on Christmas Day. Volunteers are needed to cook turkeys, hams, cakes, cookies, and pies. Pans will be provided by the parish and will be available the weekends of December 8/9 and 15/16. Volunteers are also needed to deliver the food to the First Congregational Church on Broad Street (next to the Columbus Art Museum), on Saturday, December 22.   What a marvelous and generous parish family we have with their time and talent. On November 11, we had a group of approximately 20 parishioners with various tools, equipment, and muscles of course, clean up the brush and tree area east of the shelter house.
