Ministry Appreciation Gift

Christmas Giving Tree Thank you

   A special thank-you to the generosity of our parishioners. We were able to help ten families, which included 36 children, in our area through the Canal Winchester Human Services. That means we collected 252 gifts plus $1,885.00 in gift certificates.

BIG NEWS ABOUT PARKING

  Our Administrative Council passed a proposal to expand our parking lot. Fr. Tony has met with the Diocesan Director of Facilities, who has approved the project. The Civil Engineer is currently drawing up the site plans. When he is finished, the job will go out for bids from the contractors and construction should begin in early spring. The expansion will add approximately 33 extra spaces, which is just over a 25% increase in the total number of spaces in our lot. Retirement Fund for Religious Collection

  Next weekend is the collection for the Retirement Fund for Religious. This is your opportunity to help aging sisters, brothers, and religious order priests. “Each year the need to provide for our elderly (members) becomes more pressing, and we are ever more grateful for these providential funds,” writes a religious sister about the financial assistance received from the Retirement Fund for Religious. Your donation helps provide necessities such as prescription medication and nursing care. Please give to those who have given a lifetime.

  Saint John XXIII Catholic Church has been involved with Bethlehem On Broad Street for 14 years. We thought you might like to know a little of its history. Started over 20 years ago at St. Lawrence Haven on Rich Street in response to a single request for dinner on Christmas, BOBS, as it is referred to now, has expanded through its three events to serve several thousand guests each year. Supporting our Safety Services

  As is our tradition at Pope John XXII, we will once again provide Christmas Eve dinner for the Bloom Township and Madison Township police and fire departments. Please sign up in the Gathering Space for what you would like to provide; turkey, ham, dressing, gravy, vegetable, potatoes, salad, coleslaw, pies, cakes and rolls. Please plan on dropping off the food in the church Gathering Space between 9:00 a.m. till Noon on Christmas Eve, December 24. Youth Ministry News - Food Drive Thank You

  YOUTH MINISTRY NEWS – FOOD DRIVE: The High School and Middle School Youth Ministry would like to send out a big THANK- YOU to all of the parishioners. We had a very successful food drive. The parish collected a total of 1,434 items, plus $410.00 for the Community Food Pantry. We appreciate your contributions. The Youth Ministry Coordinators would also like to thank all of our Youth that assisted with the food drive. You did an excellent job and we are very proud of all of you!

Baptismal Preparation

Thank you Musicians

  THANK YOU – Thank you to the Columbus Chapter of National Pastoral Musicians for bringing St. Cecilia Sing to St. John XXIII this past weekend. The musicians and audience enjoyed the concert, and welcomed musicians from throughout the diocese to participate. Mr. Kevin Keil, guest conductor, has left a number of CDs from his latest release, Shine In Me available for purchase.
