CATHOLIC SCHOOL SUBSIDY

  It is now almost time to contact our parishioners who have children in Catholic School regarding the parish subsidy concerning your tuition for next year. We are waiting for the tuition rates for the coming year for the Catholic Elementary Schools in our area to be set, so we may move forward. If your child was in Catholic School last year, Monsignor will send you a letter describing the suggested rates for next year.   POPE JOHN XXIII SPRING BENEFIT AUCTION – On Friday, May 24, 2013, Pope John XXIII Parish will have a Spring Benefit Auction to raise money for site improvements. Tickets for this event will be on sale after all Masses this weekend. The ticket includes an opportunity to bid on all items, as well as enjoy fancy hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine, soft drinks, coffee, and dessert. The Silent Auction will begin at 6:00 p.m. and the Live Auction begins at 8:00 p.m.

  The Christian Service and Social Concerns Commission is once again taking on a Habitat for Humanity home construction project. The organization has identified The King Family as the recipients for this year’s project. If you are a carpenter, plumber, electrician, painter or general laborer, we need you!   PLEDGE SUNDAY – Pledge Sunday will again take place this spring, in conjunction with the Bishop’s Annual Appeal, the weekend of May 4/5. We are asking our parishioners to exercise proper stewardship by making a pledge to Parish Offertory, Parish Debt Reduction (Building Fund) and the Bishop’s Annual Appeal. Maintaining a proper share of our income for Church support is an important way of keeping our priorities in order and placing our trust in God.   Mother Nature seems to be confused lately, with the weather changing from Winter to Spring on a weekly basis. One thing that seems to never change is the fact that there are many people who are in need. Well, next weekend, April 13 and 14, will be your opportunity to help make that change!   Each year beginning in May, in order to continue to participate in the fund raising for churches and schools, Kroger Corp. requires that you re-register your Shopper’s Card online.
