2ND ANNUAL TRUNK-OR-TREAT EVENT: The Knights of Columbus is hosting the 2nd Annual Trunk-or-Treat Event on October 21st, from 3:30-5:00 p.m. in the parking lot and social hall of St. John XXIII. Trunkor-Treat is an opportunity to provide a safe “trick-or-treat” experience to our parish’s youth while providing fellowship within our parish community. FALL BIBLE STUDY “THE MASS”: The Faith Formation Commission would will be hosting a 6-week series to walk through the Liturgy with Bishop Robert Barron who is the founder of Word on Fire Catholic Ministries and Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. NURSERY AVAILABILITY DURING SUNDAY MASSES – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Without more help, we will not be able to have the Nursery open EVERY Sunday. We need one or two hours of your time each month. Parents, grandparents, single adults college and high school students are welcome. This is a perfect chance for High School students who may need service hours to help our parish family, as well. THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS COUNCIL #16561: The Knights of Columbus will be participating in the 40 Days for Life program on October 1st, 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m., and is asking for help from any parishioner. This is a coordinated, national campaign to bring continuous prayer to local abortion clinics in more than 500 cities across the world. FIRST RECONCILIATION MEETING FOR PARENTS: In preparation for the wonderful Sacrament of Reconciliation, all parents/guardians of children in the second grade or older who have not received this sacrament are invited to attend a meeting on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. At this meeting, workbooks for the children, as well as a family guide for the workbook, will be distributed to the parents. Cats, dogs, guinea pigs, birds, hamsters, etc. Something new beginning this year, Fr. O’Connor, Deacon Roger and Deacon Charlie would like to come and bless the larger farm animals at your home. Llamas, horses, goats, sheep, lambs, cows, pigs, etc., all of St. Francis’ animals need blessed. BEREAVEMENT COMMITTEE: Our St. John XXIII Bereavement Committee is a ministry to those who have lost their loved ones. We offer food, drink and a place to visit with their friends and family following the funeral. We are in need of individuals to help with the setup, service, cleanup, as well as those to provide desserts. ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY – CAN YOU LEND A HAND? As most of us are aware, football season is back in full swing and that’s a sure sign that fall is here. We use our hands when cheering on our favorite teams, but maybe you can spare some time for your hands to help out some of our brothers and sisters who are in need.
