Jesus said to them, “Come, have breakfast.” John 21:12
Parish Activities Commission coordinates Parish social and recreational activities for all ages. The Commission plans Parish dances, dinners, parties, etc., along with providing “coffee and donuts” as well as special receptions on occasions. It also plans programs of welcome for newcomers and generally finds ways for our Parishioners to come together as a Christian family. Members can serve a one year term up to a three year term and attend one meeting per month.
The New Parishioner Welcome Sub Committee provides packets to new Parish Families with information about the Parish and the opportunities that exist among the various Ministries and Commissions.
The Activities Commission hosts “Hospitality Sunday” on the third Sunday of the month, except May, due to First Communion, after the 9:00 A.M. and 11:00 A.M. Masses with cookies, coffee, juice, and milk. In September we host a picnic at our Church in our new picnic shelter. In December of 2010 and 2011 we host a reception following a Christmas concert. We sometimes host a “theme” type party in January or February. During the Lenten season we host “pot luck” dinners after Stations of the Cross. We also host a RCIA reception after the Easter Vigil. In May, we provide breakfast at the First Communion Retreat. Later, in May, we help, by providing refreshments, with the PSR awards assembly.
We are always looking for NEW IDEAS to help bring the Parish family together and we are always looking for VOLUNTEERS to assist the Parish Activities Commission with these activities.
