In the fall of 2009 and spring of 2010 volunteers from Pope John XXIII Parish built a house in Fairfield County for Habitat for Humanity. Over 30 volunteers worked Saturdays building the house from the basement up including the rough framing, roofing, interior walls, drywall, and doors.
Volunteers also perpared meals for the construction crew and the house was dedicated in July 2010. Members of the Parish also donated leftover building materials and furnishings to the Habitat Restore in May 2011.
Future projects may include another house and additional donations to the Restore.
