The Platinum Club was established in the fall of 2007. It is a ministry directed to any parishioner over the age of 55.
We meet on the third Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. If dinner is part of our meeting, we begin at 6:00. Members are encouraged to check their bulletin each week for any schedule changes.
The Platinum Club seeks to provide social, recreational, educational and spiritual activities for its members.
Our social activities include potluck dinners, wine-tasting events, outdoor dramas, i.e., “Tecumseh,” trips to area restaurants, trips to dinner theaters, and picnics.
Our recreational activities have included euchre games, trips to casinos, day at the horse races, trip to Newport Aquarium in Covington, KY, etc.
Our educational activities have included speakers on subjects pertaining to seniors, i.e., Medicare, Catholic Social Services programs available to seniors, fire safety, etc. We have visited several museums as well.
Our spiritual activities have included trips to Our Lady of Consolation Shrine in Carey, OH, the St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption and Mother of God Church in Covington, KY, and the Millennium Theater in Strasburg, PA.
The officers of the Platinum Club are: Anita Hippler, chair, Terry Moore, Thomas Rubadue, Eleanor Wagner, Ernie and Marcie Winnestaffer.
As Msgr. Mario has proclaimed: “This club likes to eat and tell stories.”
